What you bring to your session will largely depend on your typical style and interests, but here are some guidelines:

The variety in the photos will mostly come from shirt changes above everything else, so shoot for 10-15 shirts. This will depend on your style, but this typically ranges from:

Shirts

-T-shirts / v-necks

-Button-ups

-Polos

-A jacket / blazer

Try to vary the colors so you have both standard colors (black/brown/white/gray/etc.), as well as pops of color (blue, green, plaid, patterns, etc.)

Pants

A darker pair (black/dark blue) should be able to get us through most of the session. You can bring a tan/khaki color or lighter wash denim for variety. If we’re doing any active/yoga type shots, you can bring a pair of shorts (ideally slightly above the knees to show your physique vs. longer baggy basketball style shorts) and a t-shirt/athletic shirt.

Shoes

Clients usually bring a pair of boots and a pair of casual/trendy sneakers. Some bring dress shoes if they want a more dressed up/professional shot in a suit.

Fit

Clothing fit is everything, especially when photos are the first impression in dating profiles. You can spend thousands of dollars on clothes only to look sloppy if they don’t fit properly. Some of our clients have questions about how clothes should fit, so here are a few quick guides.

For Women

Since most won’t notice frequent changes in pants, we’ll mostly focus on the shirt changes, as with men.

-T Shirts (something to show your casual side)

-Pack a few options for outfits you’d wear if you were going on a first date.

-Make sure to bring varied colors so each image pops in a different way. Having both neutrals (black, gray, white, etc.) and pops of color will help give variety.

-Going out vibes: maybe a dress and/or some heels as if you were going out with the girls.

-Bring a jacket or two. These are easy to throw on over the same shirt to create variety without having to find somewhere you can change.

-Something more on the business or confident side. This will bring out the intelligent and career-focused aspect of you.

-Focus on fit. Baggy clothing isn’t usually the best look, and we want to make sure to show that you take care of yourself.

-Workout attire: If you work out or do any outdoor activities, bring a combination that you’d be wear out on a hike, running, doing yoga, etc.

-Be authentic with your look. We’re not trying to change your vibe, we’re just trying to express it in the best way possible. If you like pops of color, go for it. If you’re more of the all-black type, go for it. There isn’t an exact combination of clothing that gets matches, it’s your facial expressions + variety.
